The Padinjarekara beach is located at the vicinity of the Tipu Sultan Road at Chamaravattom, about 5 km from Ponnani from Malappuram.

The Padinjarekara beach stands witness to the convergence of two rivers, River Bharathapuzha and river Tirur puzha, with the Arabian Sea.

With its clear white sands encircled by the palm trees, the Padinjarekara beach is ornamented by lagoons, rocks, natural harbors, and other gifts from the nature. Appropriately named as the “virgin territory”, the Padinjarekara beach is sheathed by the natural beauty, without any interference from the outside world.

The Padinjarekara beach is notable for the bird watching as it is regularly visited by the migratory birds. You can also enjoy riding the water scooters or speed boats while munching on the delicacies served at the beach, having a conventional Kerala taste.

How to Reach

All the major beaches in Malappuram are situated near Ponnani. Once you reach Ponnani, the local transport can easily take you to the nearest beach – Padinjarekara beach, at affordable rent.

Nearest Railway Station: Tirur Railway Station

From Tirur Railway Station, head in the south-east direction towards the Tirur-Thrikandiyoor road. At the AR Bakery, continue onto the Tirur-Malapurram-Manjeri Road/ State Highway 71. As you pass by the MANNIL building on the left, turn left at the Thazhe Palam onto the Tirur-Chamravattam Road/ Tirur-Ponani Road. When you cross the Bharat Petroleum on the left, take a left at Chamravattam onto Chamravattam Regulator cum Bridge/ Tirur-Ponani Road. When you pass by the Chamravattam Masjid on the right, take the first right onto the Ponnani-Kuttipuram Road. At the Chamravattam junction, continue onto the Edapally-Panvel highway. Take a right at Ajmal Textiles, and you find Ponnani on the right.

Nearest Airport: Karipur International Airport
From the Airport, head in the west towards the International Terminal Road, and turn right onto the Calicut Airport Road. When you pass by the Indian Coffee House on the left, take the first left, and turn in the left direction. Take the first left towards the Parappanagadi-Areekode Road/ State Highway 65. Turn right at the Tharayittal onto the Parappanagadi-Areekode Road/ State Highway 65. When you pass by the aided Muslim LP School on the left, continue onto the Edapally-Panvel highway/ Malappuram-Parappanagadi road/ State Highway 72. Keep moving in the direction of Edapally-Panvel highway, and go through the first roundabout. When you pass by the Koolath Petrol Pump on the left; turn right onto the Karingapara road. When you pass by the Salafi Masjid on the left, at Tirur Calicut short (Karingapara road), continue onto the Kozhichena Kuttipala road. As you pass the Perumanna Juma Masjid on the left, turn right onto the Tirur-Malappuram-Manjeri road/ State Highway 71, go through two roundabouts. As you cross the petrol pump Talakadatur on the right, turn left at the Thazhe Palam onto the Tirur-Chamravattam road/ Tirur-Ponnani road. When you pass by the Bharat Petroleum on the left, take a left at Chamravattam onto Chamravattam Regulator cum Bridge/ Tirur-Ponani Road. When you pass by the Chamravattam Masjid on the right, take the first right onto the Ponnani-Kuttipuram Road. At the Chamravattam junction, continue onto the Edapally-Panvel highway. Take a right at Ajmal Textiles, and you find Ponnani on the right.

From Ponnani, you can take ferries or jhankars, the local transport, to reach the Padinjarekara beach. All the other beaches are situated nearby the Padinjarekara beach.
